Hello TWI ducks and TWI fans,
Everything changes and for TWI it’s time to grow. TWI has done so well from the support of the community, and we believe it’s time to grow that community even more. We want The Wandering Inn to be recognizable so when you walk down the street wearing a “No Killing Goblins” t-shirt people give you that nod of recognition.
There is a lot in the works to make this happen and it’s a slow process, but one that also needs more help, it can’t all be on pirate’s back. The team is growing behind the scenes from editors and artists, to managers and even a marketer (me).
There is a lot happening behind the scenes at the moment, with some interesting projects and announcements we are all working towards and look forward to sharing. Every now and then I will pop up for announcements or other activities to give pirate some space, so they can do what they do best.
Just like now, this first announcement is not as fun as what we have coming up (watch this space), it is more business led, but it does support TWI and where the series deserves to reach.
From the 2nd of December the price of our ebooks will rise from $3.99 to $9.99. This will over time better support the work behind the scenes and a few upcoming projects. If I am completely honest the bigger reason is to shift our perception within the industry, to be aligned to prices for a more traditionally published ebook. Because how you are priced is often how you are perceived, we want TWI to be seen at the same level as other fantasy stories (actually I want it to be even bigger, but I am a fan).
We will continue to look for ways to support our community and reward your passion for our series. In fact, a mini spoiler for an upcoming announcement is the website rebuild will include some new online reading functionality, to give you better control over the online reading experience among other things. Did I just do a double spoiler, watch this space because we have some great things coming.
This is not about asking everyone to go out and buy ebooks, this is largely about resetting the perception around our ebooks within the industry through its price and supporting the growth behind the scenes over time.
But it’s not going up today, which means for those who prefer the ebooks, you can still preorder Lady Of Fire for $3.99.
TL:DR ebook prices are going up to meet the industry standard and to help support the team. It goes in effect from the 2nd of December so any purchases before then are at the $3.99 price. It will not impact the reading experience online, which will soon be even better.
Thanks,
Damien from Marketing
