Fae and Fare has just hit the bookshelves! That’s right, the physical books are coming at you faster than a Frost Faerie snowball to the face! I am gonna run to the bookstores to admire all three on display, and the 4th book, Immortal Games, is going to be out very soon as well (Nov. 10th!).
Please let people know and hopefully the tidal wave of books hitting stores and libraries gets more people to check out the series! Each sold book matters greatly, especially during the release week, as it is the metric all the bookstores and publishers are viewing us by. I really appreciate people posting images of them getting the books in the wild, and their reactions to the end of No Killing Goblins. I hope they’re happy when Fae and Fae begins with both long-awaited meetings and two survivors of the dungeon raid.
This is the moment when The Wandering Inn is making a splash for everyone to see, so your support of the inn is greatly appreciated! Mentioning the story to friends, book clubs, every bit helps. If we do well, I hope to also put the Singer of Terandria series in bookstores as well. I’m relying on your support, and I’ll do my best to thank you by writing the story, which is all I can do for your generosity.
I am also going to give a quick update on my life while I’m here. Switching over to the new 2-1-1 schedule has felt like it’s worked…for this month! But this is a month after break and I tend to have good energy, regardless.
I managed to output four chapters that would have been average-sized a few years ago, and put a week into the first of my many projects. With that said…a week’s a week. So finishing major projects like books or even bigger chapters is going to take time. But I’ll take 12 weeks out of my year working on side-projects rather than…0. It’s a good start, and I have a bit more energy to round the year out, which is nice.
Lastly—I actually went to the movies the other day, and I might be watching a second movie this weekend. (If you know my personal life I don’t really have time to watch movies, let alone in theatres.)
I watched the new Resident Evil movie, and I may see You Can See Everything next week. I’m not really a fan of watching sociopaths or people who are clearly guilty and lying about things like Elizabeth Holmes, but I was more intrigued when family told me it was really good, and also because I knew the person doing the documentary.
Nathan Fielder’s an odd dude. I know this only because I watched a Super EyePatch Wolf video on the guy and it was an hour long video about the oddities of this man. (This is the Youtube video essayist I am currently binging and he’s very fun, someday I wish for a video essay about The Wandering Inn but it may hurt my feelings terribly.)
It does sound like throwing two beings of similar, if not alike energy into the same room and seeing who wins. Godzilla vs Mecha Godzilla. We can only profit, I suppose, until they team up and destroy Tokyo again.
I’ll see what I think of that movie. However, Resident Evil was fun. It’s horror-action so it’s not as scary as other kinds of movies to me, but it did get me with jumpscares a few times. Mostly I just enjoyed watching it. If you never played the games…this film requires no previous knowledge of the games. I wasn’t always a fan of the humor and I think the film doesn’t develop the character well. I won’t get into spoilers but those are my two critiques and I’d give it, what, a B-B+?
It’s not a movie that makes me regret sitting through it, it’s not long, and it has suspense, body horror, and a coherent plot that executes well on all fronts. See? I’m capable of enjoying things.
That’s all from me. Again, it’s crazy how fast HarperVoyager is putting out the books, and I do think it might be helping make a splash. At least, I don’t think people are used to books coming out this quickly. The EU editions are also finally making it to readers, and I like the more pocket-sized book format, even if they’re pretty big for pockets. You know what I mean.
They also sent a bunch of cool snacks, so there are plenty of perks of being a writer after all. It makes all the effort worthwhile, as does seeing people posting about getting their books. Thanks a bunch for your support, and soon enough the first quartet of books will be on my shelves. Hopefully on yours in case zombies attack and you need spare books to fight them off (I did have a nightmare about a Resident Evil zombie in my house). Hope you love them,
